3 Great Bars in South Orange County with Ocean Views.

One thing is certain about living coastal, I never get tired of looking at the ocean. I think most people would agree that there's definitely an emotional response and mental wave of positivity and blissfulness when we're near the ocean. The smell, the sun, the sounds of the crashing waves; it's a complete vibe that's hard to understand without experiencing for yourself.

But maybe surfing or getting sandy isn't your thing and you're just looking for a nice place to relax, have a drink, and enjoy the views. From upscale to sports bars, South Orange County has an abundance of exceptional bars & restaurants with amazing ocean views, great drinks and food, music and entertainment, friendly locals, and some of the best sunsets in Southern California.

If you're ready to get some sun and enjoy a cold beer or cocktail while taking in some insane views, hop on the 5 freeway and give one of these coastal bars a try.

RAD PLACES

1. Sunsets Bar

A South County local favorite, Sunsets delivers everything you need when looking for a beer with a beach view. Located directly on Pacific Coast Hwy between Dana Point and San Clemente, you're a stones throw from Capo Beach. With a 180 degree patio view from San Clemente Pier to the Dana Point Bluffs, this is definitely the place to come if you're looking for that casual and local beach bar vibe.

Sunsets offers a Hawaiian inspired fusion menu, original cocktails, and over 15 local & domestic beers on tap. You can't go wrong with the Angus Beef Sliders and their famous Mai Tai, but there are tons of other really great options as well.

Bonus - Be sure to check out their website and social channels for their Sunday live music schedule during the summer months.

2. 180 Blu

If you're in the mood for something a bit more upscale but don't want to change out of your casual attire then we highly recommend checking out 180 Blu located at the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point.

Located at the top of the bluffs overlooking Salt Creek Beach, you'd be hard pressed to find a restaurant with a better view than this. They offer hand-crafted cocktails, beer and wine, and small plates prepared by their main restaurant Raya.

Bonus - Valet parking is the only option at the hotel but just a short walking distance away is the paid parking lot for Salt Creek Beach. It's only a few dollars to park for a couple hours and is much less expensive than paying for Valet.

3. Doho Cafe

Well, I don't know if this would be considered a bar but they do serve alcohol and when it comes to beach views, this one is about as close as it gets.

Doho Cafe is a small outdoor restaurant located right in the middle of Doheny Beach. They've got a large menu with plenty of food options from Burgers to Tacos and a beer and wine selection as well.

The patio area sits between the sand and the boardwalk, and offers great views of the world famous Doheny surf break. It's a nice spot for families to enjoy a casual lunch or anyone looking for a cold craft beer break after some beach volleyball action.

Quick Note - During the summer weekend this place can get pretty busy, so expect a crowded patio and long lines for food. Don't forget your sunscreen!
